We specialise in family travel, why? how?
Why? We at The SAFARI Company have our own children, ranging from 3 to 28!! We familiarize ourselves with East Africa’s lodges, tented camps, villas and hotels, often with our children, therefore we really do know, first hand, which places are excellent for those travelling with children.. We KNOW what children want and need on safari. We know what you WANT & NEED on safari.
How? We have designed special family-friendly safaris https://www.thesafaricoltd.com/our-safaris/for-groups/family These family safaris offer you the chance to spend quality time together in the most unique settings, as well as giving you some peace and quiet. You can enjoy with your children … tracking animals on foot? Collecting and making sculptures with termite clay? Fishing with hand lines? Painting, drawing, sculpting? Visiting a dairy, collecting chicken eggs, collecting the fruit & vegetables for lunch .. a swimming pool. The list is endless, but just to let you know, we understand children! Pssst. These are great itineraries and we recommend them highly, but if you would like to do something else, we would be delighted to work with you on an itinerary perfect for you.
We have fully informative kiddy packs to keep the little ones entertained during those long drives.

Rosie is kind, relaxed, attentive and lovely company. She has lots of experience in looking after children whilst on safari.
Life in General - Rosie Sharp grew up and was educated in Kenya. Rosie has a strong passion for the wildlife and being in the bush. After extensive worldwide travel Rosie trained as a silversmith in Mexico, her designs https://www.facebook.com/RosieSharpDesigns are influenced by her exotic and colourful life, every piece is handmade and unique. Because of her travels to India each year to source her stones, silver and gold, Rosie has subsequently launched Wild Rose https://www.facebook.com/WildRoseClothing a clothing company making men’s shirts from the softest Indian cotton.
Life in Travel / Nannying - Over the years Rosie has helped to manage some of Kenya's most luxurious camps, she is also a safari nanny for many different safari companies and luxurious camps.
Lina is excellent with young children whilst not taking their attentions away from their parents. She’s incredibly efficient and helpful for the parents; for the children she plays hard, she loves sport and teaches children about real nature and how to make toys from what you can find.
Life in General - Lina is from a big, close family of the Kipsigis tribe in Western Kenya. They have a tradition of loyalty, courage, hospitality and courtesy. Lina was, for over 20 years, a carer for old or ailing expatriate ladies, many of whom children and grand-children are friends with Chania (The SAFARI Company MD), until 2012, when she started working for Chania soon after Chania’s oldest son was born. Lina has four lovely children of her own, though sadly Lina’s Policeman husband passed away leaving Lina a single mother.
Life in Travel / Nannying - Though Lina has four of her own four children, her first nannying job was in fact for Chania, whom she has been working with since December 2012 (and is still working with). Chania is the first to admit she simply couldn’t have brought up her own children without Lina, she is simply amazing. Lina has been skiing to France and on a summer holiday to Majorca with Chania, so she has experienced the outside world and speaks perfect English. She is offering Lina’s services to our clients, to help Lina to travel more, meet more people, make more money … and to help our clients.
